《北極熊》號(hào)遠(yuǎn)洋貨輪是以德國(guó)船員為主的巴拿馬藉集裝葙船。

船仃靠在德國(guó)漢堡當(dāng)天,正值中國(guó)水手申琛三十歲生日。申琛是唯一的中國(guó)藉船員。

船上大廚漢斯是地道的德國(guó)日爾曼人,與申琛是好朋友。

漢斯得知申琛三十歲生日,又是夲命年,準(zhǔn)備做一個(gè)大蛋糕表示祝賀。

這時(shí)漢斯發(fā)現(xiàn)儲(chǔ)藏間的雞蛋已剩無幾,就帶著申瓊來到當(dāng)?shù)爻?,?zhǔn)備購(gòu)買一些雞蛋。

申琛耒自己中國(guó)山東的沂蒙山區(qū),家里是當(dāng)?shù)厥锇肃l(xiāng)有名的養(yǎng)雞大戶,生產(chǎn)的雞蛋環(huán)保又營(yíng)養(yǎng)豐富。幾年前,喜愛航海的申琛從航海學(xué)校畢業(yè)后,開始了與大海為伴的遠(yuǎn)航生涯。從而使他大開眼界。瑰珣燦爛的異國(guó)風(fēng)情,豐富多來的飲食文化,千奇百怪的風(fēng)土人情…,使他目不暇接感慨萬分i世界真是太奇妙太精采了!做一名遠(yuǎn)洋船員值得驕傲值得自豪!

對(duì)于釆買雞蛋,對(duì)申琛可謂“行家里手”,申琛是在雞場(chǎng)里長(zhǎng)大的!但是隨漢斯到外國(guó)采購(gòu)雞蛋還是第一次,卻使申琛大開眼界。德國(guó)超市出售的雞蛋均用精致的紙盒包裝,6個(gè)或10個(gè)一盒。紙盒上標(biāo)有不同的價(jià)格,數(shù)量和產(chǎn)地外,還標(biāo)有雞蛋的質(zhì)量標(biāo)準(zhǔn):散養(yǎng)雞蛋,圈養(yǎng)雞蛋,生蛋母雞的飼養(yǎng)方法…,以及產(chǎn)蛋的時(shí)間。漢斯在上船做廚師前曾做過超市的營(yíng)銷員。漢斯告訴申琛,這些標(biāo)誌打開雞蛋盒就一目了然,每個(gè)雞蛋都標(biāo)有一串紅色的代碼,這是雞蛋的身份證!

“雞蛋也有身份證?”申琿不禁驚叫起來:”簡(jiǎn)直太神奇了!“

“對(duì)!”漢斯打開一個(gè)裝有雞蛋的盒子,取出一只雞蛋,擺在申琿面前:”雞蛋上標(biāo)有0一DE一0357451的字樣。0表示綠色生物雞蛋,DE代表德國(guó)當(dāng)?shù)厣a(chǎn),后面的數(shù)字是具體養(yǎng)殖場(chǎng)的地址和雞舍的編號(hào),以及產(chǎn)蛋的時(shí)間!”

聽了漢斯的介紹,申琛將雞蛋拿在手中反復(fù)的仔細(xì)觀看著,突然產(chǎn)生了新奇的想法。申琛湊近漢斯,悄悄耳語(yǔ)幾句。漢斯聽完呵呵大笑,連聲說道:“有意思!太有理想力?!?/p>

原來,申琛一年多前來到《北報(bào)熊》號(hào)時(shí),船上除了他一名中國(guó)船員外,兒乎都是德國(guó)藕船員??芍^“人生地不熟“。但是,船上的德國(guó)船員對(duì)他如同本國(guó)兄弟一樣親熱,不僅讓他很快熟悉了船上的工作,一次申琛患了重感冒,船上的船員輪流晝夜守在他身邊,令他十分感動(dòng)。這次大廚漢斯又特地為他做生日蛋糕,真跟在家里過生日一樣溫暖。為了感謝大伙對(duì)他的關(guān)爰,在隨漢斯購(gòu)買有“身份證”雞蛋時(shí),萌發(fā)了特制一個(gè)特殊的大蛋糕。以表示對(duì)船上船員的感激。申琛的想法得到漢斯的稱贊和認(rèn)同。

到底要做一個(gè)什么樣的蛋糕呢?

倆人做了認(rèn)真地硏究:既要把這些標(biāo)有“身份”的雞蛋充分利用,又要與每個(gè)船員有關(guān)聯(lián)。終于他們找出了一個(gè)十全十美的方案。

接著倆人按制作特殊蛋糕的計(jì)劃方案,將裝有“身份證“雞蛋的包裝盒挑起挑去,選購(gòu)足足一個(gè)小推車。

回船的路上,申琿除了對(duì)德國(guó)人的認(rèn)真精業(yè)精神的敬佩外,一直啄磨剛才與漢斯啇量做大蛋糕的事。

“對(duì)!”漢斯笑著地說:“制作一只特殊的大蛋糕,要?jiǎng)?chuàng)造一項(xiàng)《海上大蛋糕》的世界吉尼斯紀(jì)錄!”據(jù)漢斯講過去船員生日都會(huì)做個(gè)大蛋糕,但這次卻與眾不同

回到船上,按著倆人策劃的方案先找到船長(zhǎng),將船員的花名冊(cè)仔細(xì)抄錄下來,然后將買的雞蛋分產(chǎn)地和時(shí)間與每位船員的出生地和時(shí)間,一一排列組合起來,共計(jì)組合了三十六組。

隨后,倆人躲進(jìn)廚房,和面,調(diào)料,烘烤…足足忙了一個(gè)下午。晚歺時(shí),一個(gè)直徑約一米的大蛋糕抬上歺桌。

船上歺廳里擠滿了人,除了值班船員外,幾乎所有船員均到了場(chǎng):”這是塊啥樣的大蛋糕?!”人們圍在大蛋糕周圍驚奇地端望著。

大蛋糕上用中德兩國(guó)文字標(biāo)出:中德友誼天長(zhǎng)地久!船長(zhǎng)按照大廚漢斯事先安排的程序,在一片”祝你生日快樂”的歌聲中,將大蛋糕分成了三十六份,然后幽默地笑著說;”這是海上最有《身份的大蛋糕》!。

人們懷著疑惑的目光望著船長(zhǎng)。

站在旁邊的大廚漢斯揭開了最有《身份的大蛋糕》的密秘。原來申琛了解到采購(gòu)的雞蛋都有產(chǎn)地和產(chǎn)蛋時(shí)間,就決定按照船上船員的出生地和出生時(shí)間來選購(gòu)雞蛋,作成一個(gè)十分特殊的生日蛋糕,以感謝船員對(duì)他的關(guān)愛。申琿的想法得到大廚漢斯的認(rèn)同和支持。為了確保每個(gè)船員資料的準(zhǔn)確性。回船后特地找到船長(zhǎng)核對(duì)了船員《花名冊(cè)》,最后倆人在眾多雞蛋選出了與每個(gè)船員的出生地和出生月份相符的雞蛋,制出了一個(gè)奇特的有“身份”的海上大蛋糕!

難得人們稱這只有《“身份”的海上大蛋糕》創(chuàng)造了”舌尖上航海”的世界吉尼斯紀(jì)錄呢!

This story is both eye-opening and very entertaining.

The Eisbar was a cargo ship that usually delivered shipments to Panama from Germany,

and the majority of its sailors were German. Once, when the Eisbar stopped by the Port of

Hamburg to pick up a new freight, it happened to be Chinese sailor Shen’s thirtieth birthday.

Shen was the only Chinese seafarer on the Eisbar. Hans, the head chef on the ship, was

close friends with Shen and wanted to make an enormous cake for the entire crew in order to

celebrate. But when he looked into the fridge, he realized that the ship had almost run entirely

out of eggs.

Shen and Hans stepped onto the streets of Hamburg in search of a supermarket. As they

walked around, Shen reminisced about his hometown in the Yimeng Mountains in Shandong,

China, where his own family made a living raising chickens that hatched their own eggs.

Buying eggs had never been a problem for him before, as the eggs hatched by his own

chickens were delicious and extremely nutritious. Shen left his hometown only a few years

ago to go to Maritime College, and then set out on a new life with nothing but his ship, his

crew, and the ocean to accompany him. This allowed him to achieve his dream of traveling

the world: he had seen the magnificent beauty of countless nations, tried a myriad of unique

and flavorful cuisines, and experienced firsthand the unforgettable feeling of meeting

someone from an entirely different culture for the first time. Never once had he regretted his

decision to boldly leave behind the comfort of his hometown, and become a man of the sea.

Because Shen grew up tending to chickens, he knew exactly how to pick out a good

batch of eggs. But since it was his first time shopping for eggs in a foreign country, Shen was

pleasantly surprised at the amount of care German supermarkets placed into these common

yet enjoyable ingredients. The eggs were packaged in delicate cardboard boxes, each one

containing 6-8 eggs. The price varied with each box not only due to the number of eggs

included, but also the time and place where it was hatched, the conditions of the coop it was

hatched in, and what kinds of fodder was fed to the chicken. Before Hans worked on the

Eisbar, he used to work in a grocery store deli, and told Shen it was super easy to figure out

whether or not the eggs were in good condition: just open up the carton and check the egg’s

ID number!

“Even eggs have ID numbers?” Shen asked in awe, “That’s awesome!”

“Yes!” Hans opened a carton of eggs and picked one out randomly. He stared at it for a

moment, then said, “This egg’s ID number is 0-DE-0357451. The 0 means that the egg

was hatched sustainably, DE is the code for Germany, and the rest of the

numbers refers to the farm and coop where the egg was hatched!”

Hans handed the egg to Shen, who observed it carefully. Suddenly, a

bizarre idea hatched inside his mind, and he leaned in close to Han and

whispered it to him. Hans chuckled at Shen’s preposition, telling him,

“How imaginative! Let’s try it out.”

When Shen arrived on the Eisbar a year ago, aside from him, almost all

other sailors were from Germany, so Shen had a little bit of a culture

shock. However, the German crew members on the Eisbar treated Shen as one

of their own and quickly helped him get accustomed to his duties on the

ship. When Shen caught a fever during his first year, his crewmates took

turns taking care of him no matter day or night. Shen was touched and moved

beyond words, and gained immense respect for his fellow crew members. Now,

Hans had decided to make him a birthday cake on his thirtieth birthday so

that he could feel even more comfortable and at home. In order to repay the

crew’s kindness, Shen came up with the idea to make a cake that was extra

special, and Hans immediately agreed to his request.

Shen was determined to make use of these unique eggs from Germany and

somehow make every single sailor on the Eisbar feel included at the same

time. Shen and Hans walked around the market, picking and choosing cartons

of eggs with distinct ID numbers on them, and ended up with an entire

shopping cart full of them.

Shen was truly amazed by the amount of precision and care that the

German supermarket placed into every single detail. Inspired, Shen went

over his plan with Hans, who smiled and said, “We need to make a huge,

splendid cake - the grandest cake ever made on a ship in maritime

history!”

Shen knew that Hans made a cake for every single crew member's

birthday, but this time was different. On their way back, they stopped by

their captain’s office and copied down every single name on the captain’s

crew roster. Shen and Hans then matched the eggs’ place of origin with

each sailor’s birthplace and time, listing out over thirty rows on a piece

of paper.

The two of them returned to the kitchen, prepared all their

ingredients, and baked for an entire afternoon. During dinner, they brought

the almost one-meter long cake out onto the terrace and placed it onto the

table. The dining room was filled with all members of the crew except for

the few men who were on shift. Everyone gathered around Shen and Hans’

creation, and exclaimed, “What an incredible cake!”

Next to the cake, Shen and Hans wrote a small sign that said, “The

first German-Chinese cake in Maritime History” in both Chinese and German.

While the crew members sang “Happy Birthday” to Shen, he cut the cake

into thirty-six even pieces and handed them to every single sailor.

“This has to be the biggest cake ever made!” The sailors declared

happily. They stared at Shen and Hans in disbelief, wondering how they came

up with this strange idea.

Hans finally began explaining their masterpiece as he finished up his

piece. When Shen found out about the identification numbers of the eggs in

the supermarket, he decided to pick out each egg specifically to match the

Eisbar’s crew members’ hometowns and birthdates, and to make a birthday

cake with eggs that related directly to each sailor’s past to thank them

for their hospitality and kindness. Both Hans and the captain loved Shen’s

idea, so after they returned to the ship, they looked through the

captain’s roster to make sure they got the perfect eggs for each seafarer.

This cake represented every single member of the Eisbar’s crew, making it

an unparalleled, exceptional cake!

None of the sailors aboard on the Eisbar that day would ever forget

about this cake, making it go down in history as the most special birthday

cake ever made at sea.
